Large Hadron Collider will not swallow Earth

CERN plans on firing up the Large Hadron Collider sometime in August, and has released new reinforced research aimed at quelling the legions of paranoid knuckle-biters producing YouTube videos and lawsuits claiming that the Earth will be swallowed by a black hole or turned into a pile of melted strange matter goo in the process. Then again, the entire universe might be destroyed by the thing! Holy moly that sounds bad!
